The journey toward national design excellence officially began with a prestigious call to leadership that showcased the depth of expertise at Chandigarh Design School (CDS). We are honored to announce that our Director, Vineet Raj Kapoor, was invited to serve as the Chief Expert for Digital Interactive Media Design – DIMD (UIUX Design) for the IndiaSkills North – East Regionals.
Joining him at the forefront of this evaluation was CDS Master Mentor Jasjeet Singh, who was invited as a Jury Expert. Together, they formed a formidable leadership duo, ensuring that the standards of UIUX design in the regional rounds met the highest professional benchmarks.
A Dual Force in Digital Innovation
The DIMD category—which tests a competitor’s ability to create seamless User Experiences (UX) and visually stunning User Interfaces (UI)—requires a sharp eye for both logic and aesthetics. The presence of two top CDS mentors in the regional leadership ensured a rigorous and fair competition:
-
Vineet Raj Kapoor (Chief Expert): Orchestrated the technical framework of the competition, ensuring the test projects aligned with the international WorldSkills standards and overseeing the entire execution across the North -East zone.
-
Jasjeet Singh (Jury Expert): Applied his deep industry knowledge to evaluate the technical proficiency of the participants, specifically focusing on wireframe efficiency, typography, and interactive prototype functionality.
The “Insider Edge” for CDS Students
At Chandigarh Design School, we don’t just teach design; we define how it is judged nationally. Having both Vineet Raj Kapoor and Jasjeet Singh at the helm of the North-East Regionals provides our students with an unparalleled advantage.
Our students aren’t just practicing on random projects—they are training under the very individuals who set the national scoring criteria. This “insider’s perspective” allows CDS students to understand the difference between a “good” design and a “winning” design.
“Collaborating at the North -East Regionals allowed us to witness the incredible potential of India’s youth,” noted Jasjeet Singh. “Bringing those insights back to the CDS classrooms is what helps our students stay ahead of the curve.”
This regional milestone was the first spark in what would become a trail of glory leading all the way to the National Finals.
